Celebrating International Men’s Day 2024 at Zitko
At Zitko, we take pride in recognising and celebrating the incredible individuals who make our company what it is. This International Men’s Day, we want to shine a spotlight on the brilliant men of Zitko Group. But it’s not just about the work—you also bring humour, camaraderie, and a sense of purpose that makes Zitko more than just a workplace.
This year, our celebrations go beyond recognition. We’re taking action to support Walk & Talk for Men, a St Neots-based support group dedicated to men’s mental health.
Supporting Walk & Talk for Men
Founded in 2021, Walk & Talk for Men provides a safe, judgement-free space where men can meet weekly for a stroll and a chat. These walks offer an opportunity to share feelings, offload challenges, and support one another—breaking the stigma around mental health and encouraging open conversations. The group creates an environment where men no longer feel the pressure to bottle things up, helping to prevent silence from turning into suffering.
Fundraising with a Twist
To contribute to this fantastic cause, we’ve taken a fun and slightly painful approach—leg waxing in the office! Throughout November, Zitko team members are raising funds internally through this brave initiative, with all proceeds going directly to Walk & Talk for Men. It’s a unique way to come together, have a laugh, and make a meaningful impact.
Raising Awareness for Men’s Mental Health
November is also Men’s Mental Health Month, and as part of our efforts, we’ll be sharing important insights and messages from Justin Leigh, co-founder and walk leader at Walk & Talk for Men. Justin’s inspiring words will highlight the importance of talking, listening, and creating spaces where men can truly feel heard and supported.
Let’s Make a Difference
This International Men’s Day, let’s celebrate the men who enrich our lives while also supporting the men in our wider community. Mental health matters, and it’s okay to talk. Together, we can break the stigma and build stronger support networks for men everywhere.
Stay tuned for updates on our fundraising efforts and inspiring messages from Justin. Let’s make this month one to remember!
